FOOTPATH APPLICATION
We intend to make an application to Essex County Highways for the path parallel to St John’s Playing Field (coming through from St John’s Road next to the bus stop) & in front/outside (under the trees) of Bullock Wood to be recorded as a public footpath. We need evidence that the track has been used openly and without objection or interruption for more than 20 years.
In order to support this application we need to hear from anyone who can give first hand evidence (in a written statement) of having used that track to and along the edge of Bullock Wood for 20 years or more.
If you have lived in the area and used those paths for 20 years please email us and include your address so that we can gather this evidence.
Email: stjohnsfieldsra@gmail.com
Please specify the exact footpaths in bold above (as well as attaching the image) otherwise we won't be able to use your email. Thank you!

ONLINE PETITION
This petition calls for a re-evaluation of this proposal to ensure that development in Colchester is sustainable and considers the long-term impact on the community and environment. Support this cause to protect Colchester’s natural heritage and to push for thoughtful urban planning that meets the genuine needs of its residents. Sign this petition to stand against the development and advocate for a sustainable future for Colchester. Change.org will request a donation - this is for our platform (Not our cause) so please be aware not to donate to that. Thank you.
THE GOFUNDME CAMPAIGN
We are facing the very real threat of up 2,000 houses being built on the fields around St John’s and Welshwood Park. To fight this, we need expert help. A professional planning consultant can provide the evidence and arguments that will carry real weight with the Council - but this expertise comes at a cost. That’s why we are asking for your support. By donating, you are helping protect our wildlife, our community, and our quality of life. Every contribution brings us closer to our £10,000 goal and gives us the best possible chance of prevention. Thank you.
COMMUNITY CONNECTORS
Do you want to sign up to volunteer with us? Email us at the link below to join our "Community Connectors" mailing list. Community Connectors will spread the word to their neighbors and to those who don't have access to social media. We'd also love all the help we can get with putting up leaflets. Get in touch if you're interested!
